i would make classes shorter and more of them for the whole school year and have more in class assignments but make sure that if your not learning or you are misbehaving you go into another class so if you fail it is your fault. i would also make sure that there is a better student to teacher ratio by cutting classes (except gym) to groups of 10-15
Personally I think the school system is good where it is at, expect for one thing, we have to make kids want to learn, and also have fun while learning, which in the long run would make this world better with more jobs and people who now how to do them.
not having homework will be good in a way cause we will have more time to hang out with out friends and stuff like that but it also might cut back our time with school work and we could get way behind and have shorter vacations..
I would change the way we learn, like being able to take laptops home and just a more hands on learning system. Most students don't like sit in a chair for the whole day, maybe if we incorporated outdoor lessons into the system then students would be more interested in learning.
I would also change the amount of students in a class, fewer is better because the more students in a class the less attention from the teacher.
I like doing everything on the computer. You don't have to haul a back pack around. What would be really cool if everybody had lap tops and people could sit where they want in the class room and just keep the lap top closed until it was time to use them. i wish we didn't have to sit in those REALLY uncomfortable desks and just listen to a teacher talk. half the time i don't even remember what the teacher said cuz there is nothing memorable about it to keep it in my mind.
some of things i would change in our education system would be the environment that we are supposed to learn in i dont like sitting in a class room for hours and hour learning about the same thing i like to do hands on things and experiments to me that is the best way to learn and you get more out of it to. i would like to be able to got places and explore things for my self. i think that experiencing things would be a better way to learn because you get to have your own idea of wat you think of things.
i would pretty much just keep our education the same because we are being taught certain things for a reason. Besides it would be way too much work to change everything we are being taught,
i would change....
* the homework load, i know school & education are important but so are our social lives.
*half the things we learn in school we don't even need to know. so i would change the curriculum.
*technology should be used more! everyone loves it why not use it?
*teachers should make class fun. stuff is easier to remember when its interesting & engaging.
*GRADE TENS SHOULD GET LAPTOPS NEXT YEAR =]*
I would want all students to have the choice of uses a computer for writing up assignments and studying or just writing things out by hand. Some students find it easier to write things out by hand while others like using the keyboard on computers. i would also have classes for people that like learning hands on so that they don't have to be stuck behind a desk all day getting lectures. The students could experience learning in a new way. i.e. the experiential learning program from grade eight.
I would change all of the classes to computers rather than using paper and pen's save trees help the earth . But I would not change health or gym witch can be physical and not just sitting around...
If i were in charge of the education system i would have the majority of our work done on computers. I would want some homework handed out yes, but not a whole bunch. All of the grades would get laptops to do all there work on them. Classes would stay the same time, but instead of just sitting there and having the teacher lecturing us the whole class, we should do fun activities.
I would change it to make classes more like L.A class. Getting everyones opinions on a blog and using the computers and internet to help us with work. Maybe not have it completely dependent on the internet and computer but have a balance between traditional methods and the more interactive teaching involving technology. Have more assignments typed and shared with teachers or emailed.... it would save a lot of paper and that way you can't say you forgot your assignment at home when its due lol
Children learn better with shorter homework sessions and less notes. Like in study sessions, if you study for 3 hours strait, then you learn only what you studied in the beginning and the end. The middle study gone, poof. Kids learn better without all the mountains of homework, and all the writing. If there was less homework, less tests, a more comfortable atmosphere, then kids would be more inclined to put some effort into it. If teachers assigned more creative assignments that better appealed to the child's nature, such as a drawing a short paragraph a few questions. The kid would still learn, and feel more at ease with it.
Also, if the child has problems learning then you shouldn't ignore it, help them out. The more you put something off, the worse the situation will be. Then you will be stuck with a problem so immense you can't do something about it.
i think that in order to learn more and be bored less we should be taught with hands on experience for example for math doing fractions could be done by a bank clerk. and for social having a guest speaker that has actually been involved in some of the topics and in La .............. keep it like how it is Macs and all!

if i could change the education system i would make it so u could pick your classes in grades 7 and up first off all. second i would make the classes that can be done by using computers with computers. i would make it so that if a teacher a signs home work then it should take the students no longer than 20 minutes to complete it.
i would make the school year like in tennessee. you go to school for 9 weeks and get off for 2 then go back for 9 and so on.
If i was in charge of the education system i would have more hands on out of school educational field trips. We should have more classes like this one were we get to use computers for lots we will soon have to do everything by computers. We need to go out in to the real world like work experience. We should also have more guest speakers.
i would make it simple, make doing school work so it could be the same way in and out side the class room. so i could have the same support and help i need no matter where i choose to do my work. and mindlessly re-writing everything my teacher wrote down on the board. but a way can easily access the simple way that i need to under stand it.
I would just leave it as it is but one thing is that we should make the classes shorter and that another thing is that we should have less homework.
if i was in charge i would make it the way it is with the times and everything but i would change how some of the things work like if you chose to sikp that fine its your choice and your future you are throwing away so lets say you skipped a whole week and the you show up on monday and go to your class teachers wot tell you what you missed there would be no phone call and you would have 2 days to do all the work you had to do and if you could not get it all done then you would be kicked out of that class for the rest of the term and would fail and have to do it again. reason for no phone call is because its hight school time to grow up! so your life would be completely in your own hands and you would have to fix your mistakes..... longer lunch time
